  1. the general name for the US film cartoons produced by Warner Brothers from the 1930s to the 1960s. The film characters included Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Tweety Pie, Speedy Gonzales and Pepe le Pew. Tex Avery drew many of them, and Mel Blanc (1908-89) supplied their voices. The characters also appeared in a Warner Brothers' series called Merrie Melodies. Every Looney Tunes film ends with the phrase That's all, folks appearing on the screen.
