It was part of the Louisiana Purchase and was explored by Lewis and Clark. Its agricultural products include corn, wheat, cattle and pigs and it also makes industrial machinery and electronic equipment. Its tourist attractions include Scotts Bluff National Monument and Chimney Rock National Historic Site.
