  1. a US city in central Florida, known as an international entertainment centre. It was a quiet farming town until the 1970s but its attractions now include Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney-MGM Studios. Orlando is the centre of an agricultural area which produces a lot of fruit. It also has a US Navy base and industries producing electronic products.
