Perry Mason

- a character created by the US writer Erle Stanley Gardner. He is a lawyer who appeared in 82 novels about court cases, none of which he ever lost. The first was The Case of the Velvet Claws (1933). Raymond Burr played the character in the popular television series Perry Mason (1957-66) on NBC.
