  1. a US mountain in the Rocky Mountains near Colorado Springs, Colorado. 'Pike's Peak or Bust' was the cry of people who rushed to that area when gold was discovered in 1859 and of later people who used the mountain as a place to aim for as they travelled west. It is 14 110 feet/4 304 metres high and named after Zebulon Pike, who discovered it in 1806.
