  1. a US magazine aimed at men known for its pictures of women wearing very few clothes. It was started by Hugh Hefner in 1953, when it was seen as part of the sexual revolution of that time. The magazine also includes serious articles, short stories, etc., and some people joke that they only buy the magazine for the articles. The famous Playboy logo is a rabbit wearing a bow tie.
