Rudolph Valentino

- (1895-1926) one of the most successful US stars in silent films. He was born in Italy and went to America in 1913. He played romantic roles and is best remembered for his part in The Sheik (1921). His other films included The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (1921), Blood and Sand (1922) and The Son of the Sheik (1926). When Valentino died young, over 100 000 people attended his funeral.
