- the most famous of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table, sometimes called Lancelot of the Lake. He was Arthur's favourite knight, but deceived him by becoming the lover of Queen Guinevere, Arthur's wife. Sir Galahad was his son by Elaine, the daughter of King Pelles.
