  1. a community in the US state of Arizona for people of 55 and older. It organizes special activities for its members and provides them with police protection and medical services. It was established in 1960 by Del Webb (1899-1974) because of the dry, warm climate of the area. The Del Webb Corporation now has Sun City communities in other states.
