- (1878-1949) a US actor and tap dancer (= a dancer who wears special shoes to beat out the rhythm on the floor). He is best remembered for appearing in films with Shirley Temple, including The Little Colonel (1935), The Littlest Rebel (1935) and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1938).
