- a US island off the south-east coast of Massachusetts, near Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard. The island is separated from the coast by Nantucket Sound. It is 15 miles/24 kilometres long and has a small town also called Nantucket. It attracts summer tourists, and many rich people have homes there.
