  1. a US film (1956) which at the time was the most expensive ever made. It was directed by Cecil B De Mille, who had made a silent version of it in 1923. It tells the Bible story of Moses and was filmed in Egypt with Charlton Heston as Moses and Yul Brynner as the Egyptian king Rameses II.
