  1. a corral (= place where horses or cows are kept within fences) in Tombstone, Arizona. It was the scene of a famous fight with guns on 26 October 1881, in which Deputy Marshal Wyatt Earp, with his brothers Virgil and Morgan and their friend Doc Holliday, killed three members of the Clanton gang. The Earps were arrested for murder, but then released. The incident has been the subject of many films, including Gunfight at the OK Corral (1957) with Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp.
